“Accepting oneself does not preclude an attempt to become better.”  ~ Flannery O’Connor

Good morning!  This quote was part of a daily “inspirational quotes” email that I received this morning.  It really resonated with me when I read it.  I am fully aware of my flaws, and work to improve upon them, all the time.  I know that I fall far short of the goal on any given day, but I really am making efforts to become better in the areas that need the most work.   Usually, those include being hotheaded, strongly disliking being wrong, speaking without thinking, and a host of others.  I don’t even expect you to contain your eye rolls - you know this is all true!  Yet, as unpleasant as it is to face our flaws, I think that its important to do so.  We have a responsibility to ourselves and those we care about to make improvements in ourselves.  Hopefully, every small improvement we make works like the ripples when a rock is dropped into a pond - the improvements spread beyond us and into the world.  That’s my hope, anyway.  So, when I fall short of the mark again (it’s bound to happen, no matter how much I wish I could just be perfect 😉), please know that I will continue to work towards a better me.  For you and for me!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.  Be safe, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and know that you are loved, just as you are!
